in addition to performing surgeries on all species.

Dr. Holstein has always known she wanted to become a veterinarian. Growing up, she spent countless hours following her father around the clinic and accompanying him on large animal farm calls, experiences that inspired her passion for veterinary medicine from an early age.
After graduating from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Holstein practiced in western Nebraska before returning to her hometown of Blair, Nebraska.
In 2024, Dr. Krista purchased the clinic from Dr. Lisa.
She especially enjoys working outdoors with ruminants and appreciates the variety that mixed animal practice provides. Along with caring for companion animals, she values building lasting relationships with their owners and believes that getting to know both pets and their families is an important part of providing exceptional veterinary care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Holstein enjoys cheering on the Huskers, golfing, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Denise resides in Blair with her Papillion Allie. She has three kids and six grandchildren. She started working with Dr. Ken Holstein in 2000, helped transition to the new clinic in 2011 and through the purchase by Dr. Lisa Schrum. She was the office manager until 2017 when she passed the reins on to Sadie to allow more time to spend with her grandkids. She now works one busy day a week handling all of the finances.

Sadie was raised and resides in Blair with her son Perry. She has two Chihuahua's named Howie and Rue. She loves all the dogs! She enjoys her morning coffee, spending time with family and friends, aquascaping, partaking, listening to music and just chilling out with her pooches.
She started working as a receptionist with Dr. Ken Holstein in 2009, helped transition to the new clinic in 2011 along with Denise and now works as the Office Manager. She loves working with our awesome crew along with helping all the clients and their pets.

Jackie resides on a farm near Nickerson. She loves fishing and traveling, as well as thrifting with her mom. She is an avid aquarist and also dedicates her free time to home projects and spending time with family. Most days you will find her Pomeranian Sasha " helping" at the front desk.

Hannah graduated from Iowa Western Vet Tech Program in 2020. She resides in Blair along with her husband Tom and sons Tyson, Quill and Rhodes. She has a Dalmatian named Tucker and three cats. She likes spending time with family & friends, gardening, reading, cooking and watching the NE Huskers and Denver Broncos. She loves scary movies and everything to do with Halloween. She enjoys updating her skills with new experiences and loves being a vet tech while working with an amazing crew.

Kelly grew up raising lots of kittens (barn cats) and always knew she wanted to work with animals. Becoming a LVT is her dream come true. Kelly resides in Blair with her 3 cats.
She really loves animals of all types. She would really like to have a farm someday. In her free time, she likes to shop and go to concerts.
In Loving Memory
In February of 2025, we were deeply sadden to share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved colleague, Dr. Lisa Schrum.
She was an amazing friend and a valued member of our team.
She will be greatly missed.
Through the wonderful donations from clients, friends and family, The Lisa Schrum Memorial Fund was established to help clients & their pets with financial assistantance for emergency health care.

Dr. Schrum was born and raised in Omaha, NE. She worked at Mapleview Animal Clinic and Candlewood Animal Hospital for over 7 years. Dr. Schrum owned a mobile practice and has done relief work for other veterinarians for over 20 years. Dr. Schrum purchased the clinic from Dr. Ken Holstein in January of 2015.
